compare

Scytale pairs compliance software with human experts. cybee is software that protects the Macs your team works on, and that protection is free. A growing team may need help with an audit as well as protection for its Macs. Separate the two before you compare offers.

In one minute

- Scytale combines a compliance platform with support from human experts. Some of its packages include a penetration test.

- cybee protects your Macs, sets them up safely and keeps dated evidence about them. Protection is free.

- cybee does not replace a consultant, an auditor or a penetration test.

## Some of the work needs software. Some of it needs a person.

When a new client asks for security evidence, the request often has parts: facts about your Macs, your company’s policies, sometimes an audit or a test. Different people answer different parts.

before signing

### A new client asks for security evidence.

“How are your laptops protected?”

Facts about the Macs. Software can collect them every day, with dates.

in the contract

### The client asks for an audit or a certification.

An independent auditor does the audit. A consultant can get you ready for it.

on a review

### Someone asks for a penetration test.

Specialists test your system within a scope you agree. No record about your Macs replaces that.

**Q:** What is Scytale?

### Scytale, in plain words.

Scytale describes a platform for evidence collection, control monitoring and compliance work, supported by human experts. Its Trust Center shares security and compliance information with customers. The combination can support a team that needs help organising its programme.

Its startup packages combine different amounts of platform access, consulting and testing. Some bundles include a web application penetration test. The exact package matters when you compare the cost and the work included.

[Scytale platform overview](https://scytale.ai/)[Scytale packages](https://scytale.ai/pricing/)

**Q:** What is a penetration test?

### A penetration test, in plain words.

Specialists test a system, such as your web application, the way an attacker would, within a scope you agree in advance. Then they report what they found.

It is a service with its own scope and its own report. A record of how your Macs are set up is a different thing, and it does not answer a request for a test.

**Q:** What is a compliance programme?

### A compliance programme, in plain words.

It is the work a company does to earn an ISO 27001 certificate or a SOC 2 report. You write policies, review risks, check your suppliers and who has access, train people, and then an outside auditor looks at all of it.

Part of that work depends on your Macs: encryption, safe settings and protection. cybee covers that part. It does not touch the rest, and it is not the audit.

**Q:** What is a Trust Passport?

### The Trust Passport.

The Trust Passport is a dated record of how your Macs are protected. Your client or insurer opens it through one link and sees what holds, since when, and what cybee could not see. It is not a certification or an audit, and it does not answer for your policies, your people or your cloud. It says so on the page.

Sealed means the record carries a fingerprint, a short code made from its content. Your client can compare it with the copy cybee sealed and see whether anything was changed afterwards. That shows the record was not edited. It does not check the facts a second time.

## Make the decision on one task. The request before signing.

a new client asks

### “Show us your security before we sign.” Three steps, before any offer.

1

Clarify the request.

Is it a question about your devices, your company’s policy or an independent audit?

2

Assign the work.

Put routine protection and settings on your Macs next to the wider compliance tasks.

3

Agree the deliverable.

Ask who supplies each answer, who checks it and who keeps it up to date afterwards.

A tool and an expert may answer different parts of the same review.

Where an expert comes in

cybee helps a small team start without building a security department. It does not replace professional judgement for an incident, a legal question or an audit. Agree the wider work with the people responsible.

Figure: The part about your Macs, answered from the Macs. Policies, the audit and any test stay with the people responsible.

## Keep what works. Add only what is missing.

Choose by the job that is still open. One of these four will sound like your team.

Keep Scytale

### Scytale’s experts already help with your programme and your audit.

Keep that. cybee does not take over the leadership of a compliance programme, and it does not replace consultants or independent auditors.

Check first, then decide

### Your programme runs, but nobody looks after the Macs day to day.

Check what your package covers on devices. If routine protection and settings are still open, cybee can do that part and record it with dates.

Start with cybee

### A client asked about your laptops, and nobody runs security for you.

Protection is free for every Mac, and you run it by asking your AI assistant. Add the Proof plan when someone asks you for proof.

Not cybee alone

### The request needs a penetration test or an independent audit.

No record about your Macs answers that. You need a tester or an auditor, and cybee can supply the facts about your Macs that they ask for.

Where cybee stops

It is not a certification, an audit or a penetration test, and it does not write your policies. No security team watches your Macs for you. cybee stops bad software while it runs and sends an alert. A change to a setting waits for a yes from the person who uses that Mac. It runs on Macs with an Apple chip, M1 or newer. Windows, Linux and Microsoft 365 are not supported today. They are being built.

## Free for every Mac. You pay when you need to prove it.

The protection is free because we want every Mac in a small company protected. We earn money when a company has to prove it.

## Before you choose.

**Q:** Is cybee an alternative to Scytale’s consulting?

No. cybee protects your Macs, keeps their settings safe and provides dated technical evidence. It does not take over the leadership of a compliance programme or the role of consultants and independent auditors.

**Q:** Does a Trust Passport satisfy a penetration test request?

No. The Trust Passport describes the controls observed on the checked Macs. A penetration test is a different service with its own agreed testing scope.

**Q:** What is free, and what does the Proof plan add?

Protection, the settings checks, the list of AI tools on each Mac and Google Workspace visibility are free. The Proof plan adds safer settings kept on, the sealed Trust Passport and security training, with a 14 day trial. It costs CHF 9 per Mac per month, or 90 a year, excluding tax. To try it, ask your AI assistant for the Trust Passport and use the Stripe link it sends.

**Q:** What does the Trust Passport show?

Which Macs were checked and when, including gaps. Its seal can be checked against cybee’s copy. It is not an independent audit or a certification. Google Workspace accounts have a separate record.

**Q:** What leaves my Mac?

Detection, checks and fixes run on the Mac. What leaves it is security information: events, which settings are on, which apps, browser extensions and AI agents are installed, what the agents are connected to and what cybee recorded them doing. Never the contents of your files, and never passwords or tokens. cybee AG is a Swiss company, hosted in Europe. [Security and privacy details](https://cybee.ai/security/)
