## Which devices work

Protection and the safety checks are free on every supported Mac. Keeping the settings on is part of the Proof plan.

| Device | Today |
|---|---|
| Mac with Apple silicon | Supported Free Proof plan |
| Mac with an Intel processor | Not supported |
| iPhone and iPad | Not supported You can still ask about your Macs from the assistant on your phone. |
| Servers | Not supported |
| Windows and Linux | In build |

### Check one Mac

1

Open the Apple menu.

Click the Apple logo in the top left corner of the screen.

2

Choose About This Mac.

A small window opens with the Mac’s name and details.

3

Read the line next to Chip.

If it starts with Apple M, the Mac has Apple silicon and cybee runs on it. If the window lists an Intel processor instead, cybee does not.

What you will see: a line such as Chip, Apple M, followed by a number.

Do this on every Mac, not only yours. One Mac that works does not mean the whole team’s will. For the exact model and macOS version of each Mac, email [hello@cybee.ai](mailto:hello@cybee.ai) before you rely on it. [See what is planned](https://cybee.ai/product/roadmap/)

## What the install asks for

| You need | Why |
|---|---|
| Your Mac’s password | Installing security software needs an administrator, so macOS checks it is you. Your account must be allowed to install apps. |
| One switch in System Settings | CybeeES under Full Disk Access. macOS lets security software watch what programs do only once you switch it on. |
| An internet connection | The installer downloads cybee from get.cybee.dev, cybee’s install server. |
| No account | There is nothing to sign up for. The install creates one list for all your Macs, which cybee calls your organization, and a key that is saved on the Mac. The key lets your AI assistant manage your Macs. Terminal calls it your admin token. |

[What macOS asks you, step by step](https://cybee.ai/docs/install/#macos)

### If your Macs already run other security tools

Keep your current protection and device management running while you check that cybee works alongside them. Before you install on the team’s Macs, send us the details below. It is the quickest way to a useful answer.

before you email us three details

- The model and macOS version of each Mac.

- The security software and device management already running, with names and versions.

- How you want to use cybee: which assistant, or Terminal.

Leave out your admin token and any password. [Email hello@cybee.ai](mailto:hello@cybee.ai)

## Assistants and accounts

### Your AI assistant

| Where you ask | Today |
|---|---|
| Claude Code, Codex, Cursor | Works Connected by the installer. Type /cybee to start. |
| Claude desktop app | Works Type `cybee connect` in Terminal, then /cybee. |
| ChatGPT, Grok, Claude in the browser | Works with extra steps. Write to [hello@cybee.ai](mailto:hello@cybee.ai) for them. |
| Terminal | Works Type `cybee status` to see whether protection is on. |
| Copilot | Not supported |

If Claude Code, Codex or Cursor does not answer /cybee after the install, type `cybee connect` in Terminal. [Set up your AI assistant](https://cybee.ai/docs/assistant/)

### Google Workspace and Microsoft 365

Connecting a Mac does not connect its owner’s accounts. Google Workspace is connected on its own and keeps its own record. Seeing account activity is free. For the steps and the permissions it needs, email [hello@cybee.ai](mailto:hello@cybee.ai) with the name of the organization you want to connect.

Microsoft 365 is in build. [What cybee shows for Google Workspace](https://cybee.ai/product/workspace/)

## Keep the rest on your list

Windows laptops, Macs without cybee and cloud accounts that are not connected still belong on your team’s list. If they are missing from a cybee record, it means they were not checked, not that they are fine.

Not covered today

Intel Macs, iPhone, iPad and servers. Windows, Linux and Microsoft 365 are not supported today. They are being built.
