cybee versus
Bitdefender.

A client asks how your Macs are protected. If Bitdefender is already part of the answer, start there. Then identify what evidence and configuration work the request still needs.

Protection, CIS hardening and a dated technical record, worked through your assistant.

Bitdefender

Endpoint security managed through GravityZone, with capabilities depending on the package and operating system.

What GravityZone covers.

This comparison concerns Bitdefender’s business product GravityZone, rather than treating every Bitdefender edition as interchangeable. Its Small Business Security page describes prevention, behaviour analysis, monitoring and response through a central console. It also offers optional modules. Read Bitdefender’s product description.

Package names matter. So do operating systems. Bitdefender’s endpoint documentation distinguishes the capabilities of its agents and their supported platforms. A feature described for a Windows endpoint should not automatically be assumed to work the same way on macOS. Check the specific package and Mac configuration with the vendor. Read the endpoint protection documentation.

This comparison covers protection, settings, daily operation and customer evidence. It does not measure detection performance.

Protect, harden, then show the record.

cybee joins three kinds of work. Protection looks for threats on the device. Hardening applies and maintains a chosen configuration. The Trust Passport records the observed controls, dates and device coverage in a page a recipient can review.

The distinction between checking and changing matters. A free posture score makes configuration gaps visible. Paid hardening applies a selected profile and maintains it as settings drift, with reversible changes. A dated record then helps explain which controls were observed and on how many Macs.

The Trust Passport does not certify the business. The recipient can check the page against cybee’s sealed copy. That verifies it has not changed; it does not make an unassessed Mac part of the record.

What the device record covers.

Evidence about assessed Macs

Encryption, endpoint protection, application patch status, screen lock, and installed browser extensions and AI tools.

Separate evidence required

Google Workspace accounts and multi-factor authentication (MFA) have their own record. Backups, training completion, incident plans, policies, code, suppliers and people need separate evidence.

Read the coverage details

On a typical questionnaire the passport answers, with dates, the questions about your Macs: disk encryption on every listed Mac; endpoint protection that watches behaviour, and since when; the patch status of your applications; screen lock and password on wake; the browser extensions and AI tools installed. This device record does not cover accounts and MFA. Connected Google Workspace has its own account record, within the connected organisation. Backups, training completion and the incident plan also need separate evidence. Policies, code, suppliers and people need their own evidence.

Keep working protection in place.

If a team already relies on an endpoint product, begin by understanding the protection and evidence it already has. Keep the useful record of those controls. Then identify the exact gap: configuration work, a clearer date range, missing device coverage or an easier way for a client to read the evidence.

Before running cybee alongside another protection agent, confirm the exact versions and configuration with the product owners.

Do not uninstall protection to improve a document.

First establish what is running, what its owner recommends and what evidence is required. A presentation gap and a protection gap are different problems.

Choose against a concrete request.

cybee protects supported Macs and records their security settings. If your team also uses Windows or Linux, those devices need separate protection; cybee support is still in build.

Compare the actual deployment, rather than the broadest list of capabilities on either homepage. Check the devices, permissions, reporting period, operator and support route. Confirm how changes are reviewed and how an unwanted change can be reversed.

cybee’s paid plan is 9 per device per month or 90 per year, in CHF, EUR or USD, excluding tax. The paid plan includes hardening, sealed device records, security training and sealed Google Workspace account and offboarding records. Workspace visibility and device protection are free. Ask Bitdefender for the price of the specific package and devices you need. See cybee pricing

Check that your team can operate the protection and the client can read evidence that answers the request.

Common questions.

Does cybee replace every Bitdefender capability?

No. The products have different scopes, editions and operating-system coverage. This comparison is not a claim of feature parity or better detection.

Can both endpoint agents run together?

Do not assume compatibility. Confirm the exact versions, configuration and deployment approach before running two active endpoint products together.

Will the client accept the Trust Passport?

The client decides. The record supports technical questions about assessed Macs and clearly states its limits. It is not a certification or a guarantee of acceptance.

Provable security: protection, hardening, and a dated record that proves both to whoever asks.

The device scope is supported Macs. The record is not a certification, an audit opinion or a guarantee that a recipient will accept it.
