For AI startups

Build the product. Answer the review.

cybee protects the Macs your team builds on and lists the AI tools on each one. When a bigger customer reviews your security, it gives you dated answers to the questions about your Macs and the AI tools on them. It is not a certification or an audit report.

Illustration: a startup asks its assistant which AI tools can reach its code, for a customer’s security review. cybee lists seven AI tools on 4 of 4 Macs, and names one to look at: a test database that Cursor on one Mac still connects to.

The demo went well. Now the customer checks how you work.

Bigger customers vet the startups they buy from. That review often arrives before your first security hire, so the founder answers it between everything else.

  • before the contract

An enterprise customer sends a security review.

    “Are the development Macs encrypted?”

Procurement wants dated facts it can check.

  • any week

Someone adds a new AI tool.

A new assistant here, a browser extension there. Some of them can reach code and customer data.

  • in due diligence

An investor asks how you protect the company.

They want to see the basics in place before they commit.

  • at renewal

Your insurer asks what protects your Macs.

The form asks what runs on every Mac, and since when.

Why the questions come early

30%

of the data leaks Verizon studied involved a third party, such as a supplier. That share doubled in a year. For your customers, you are that supplier.

4%

of companies count as fully prepared in Cisco’s yearly study. A startup that can answer the review already stands out.

Keep building. cybee keeps the facts ready.

Run one line in Terminal, a chat, your IDE or a CLI. To add a teammate’s Mac, ask your AI assistant to invite them. cybee works in the background, and you ask your first question in the assistant your team already uses all day.

Your team changes its tools every week. cybee keeps the list.

Someone tries a new assistant on Monday and connects it to an internal tool by Friday. cybee lists the AI tools on each Mac and what each one connects to, next to the installed apps and what each browser extension is allowed to do.

A connection that is set up does not prove it was used. Where cybee recorded what a tool did, you can ask about that one action.

FixChecking: FreeFixing: Proof plan

The basics still matter. cybee keeps them on.

Free: cybee stops bad software while it runs, shows which apps are out of date and checks 118 settings on every Mac. Proof plan: it sets weak settings the safe way and keeps them that way, once the person who uses that Mac says yes.

ProveProof plan

No security team yet. The facts are ready anyway.

The question arrives before the security hire. You do not need a full department to start. You need to see what is protected and what needs attention, so you know what you can honestly show.

When the customer asks for proof, send the Trust Passport: which protections held on your Macs, since when, and what cybee could not see.

Protection and the AI tool list are free on every Mac. Your record starts the day you install, so a review next quarter can show months of history, not one morning.

A few practical questions.

What does cybee not do?

It is not a certification or an audit. It does not answer questions about your code, your cloud or how the company works, and a connection that is set up does not prove what an AI tool did. Choosing what each agent may reach is planned, not live. It runs on Macs with an Apple chip, M1 or newer. Windows, Linux and Microsoft 365 are not supported today. They are being built.

Can we start before a customer asks?

Yes. Free protection and the AI tool list work from the first install. Add the Proof plan when you need the sealed record and stronger settings. The record starts the day you install.

Will the record get us through procurement?

It helps you answer the device questions with evidence: dated checks on the listed Macs, with connected Google Workspace accounts in a separate record. Company policies, code and backups need their own answers. Training completion is recorded on the Proof plan. The buyer still decides what is required.

Is this a SOC 2 or ISO 27001 report?

No. cybee reports your Macs against 10 compliance frameworks, SOC 2 and ISO 27001 among them, for technical controls only. It is not an audit, and the Trust Passport says so. An auditor still looks at your policies, your people and your cloud.

Will an AI change a Mac on its own?

No. Nothing from a chat changes a Mac until the person who uses it says yes.

Your next customer will ask. Be ready.

Needs a Mac with Apple silicon. To check, open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac: next to Chip, the name starts with Apple M. Intel Macs are not supported.

curl -sSf https://get.cybee.dev | sh

Run it in one of these places. Keep working there.

  • Terminal

Open Terminal, paste the line and press Return.

    Then cybee status

  • Chat

Paste it into your AI assistant’s chat and ask it to install cybee. This needs an assistant that runs on your Mac. A chat in a browser tab cannot reach your Mac.

Then /cybee in the same chat

  • IDE

Paste it into the terminal in Cursor, or ask Cursor to run it.

    Then /cybee in Cursor’s chat

  • CLI

Ask Claude Code or Codex to run it. macOS asks for your password in a window.

Then /cybee in the same session

Your Mac may ask for your password. That is macOS checking it is you. When System Settings opens, switch on CybeeES under Full Disk Access. Protection starts then. Full Disk Access lets cybee watch what programs do. Your files never leave your Mac.
